Karly Nihal

CMHC

I utilize present-centered and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients cope with challenging life events, process past trauma, and tune into a path forward. I am trained in mindfulness-based therapy and somatic awareness, and often will integrate mindfulness exercises into the therapy room, when appropriate and desired. I believe strongly in each person’s innate wisdom and resiliency and reflect these qualities to you when in session. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental container for you to explore new ways of being, and shed old patterns that may no longer be helpful. I am also passionate about working with client’s dreams and believe our dreams hold wisdom and potential for understanding ourselves more deeply. I enthusiastically work with children and adults ages 10+. I have experience as a clinician at a residential treatment center for adolescents, and have worked with those in recovery from disordered eating, along with individuals who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
